Acupuncture is a treatment modality based on the principals of Chinese medicine dating back 2,500 years.  Qi (Chi) and blood flow, Yin/Yang theory, and the meridian systems are the fundamental concepts applied in Chinese medicine.

Insertions of very fine needles placed in specific points on the body have been shown to be effective in the treatment of many health problems.Acupuncture stimulates the body's inherent ability to heal itself. We are seeing, as referred to in acupuncture terms, "Patterns of Disharmony" that are unique to our times.  Acupuncture, which corrects these Patterns of Disharmony by bringing organ and meridian function into balance is extremely effective for treating many acute and chronic physical conditions.

Many patients experience relief from these conditions when acupuncture and traditional Western medical treatments are used in a complementary fashion.

The World Health Organization recognizes acupuncture to be effective in the treatment of:

Asthma
Anxiety
Arthritis
Bell's Palsy/Facial Tics
Bronchitis
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Constipation
Colitis
Chronic Fatigue
Depression
Digestive Problems
Emotional Problems
Fibromyalgia
Headaches/Migraine
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Low Back Pain
Menstrual Irregularities and pain
Morning Sickness Nausea
Neck/Shoulder Pain
Plantar Fasciitis
Sinusitis
Sleep Disturbances
Sore Throat
Stress Reduction
Tennis Elbow
TMJ
Vertigo
Vomiting

To treat these muscle, bone and nerve-related ailments, I use a combination of Trigger point and Motor point therapies that are similar to deep tissue massage, but allow me to go deeper into muscle tissue and treat more than one area at a time, effectively. This, in combination with gentle and effective Japanese style acupuncture, helps restore balance to the whole body.
